AWIS Awards in 2004

Rookie of the year
Ursula Kessen was named Rookie of the Year for her enthusiasm and leadership of the Membership Committee, organizing the Open House, and implementing the New Member Wecome Package in 2004.

Leadership Award
Natalie Schiller received the Leadership Award for co-chairing the "Black and White" Gala and the Women in Bioscience Conference.

Outreach Award
The chair of the Scholarship Committee, Fran Putkey received the Outreach Award for leading the Scholarship Committee in 2004.

Outstanding Volunteer Award
The Outstanding Volunteer Award was presented to Hima Joshi for all her work on the Book and Movie Club and the AWIS-San Diego Newsletter and to Helen Chen for co-chairing the "Black and White" Gala and assisting with the AWIS Strategy Sessions.

Lifetime Achievement Award
Sharon Wampler received the Lifetime Achievement Award for her service to the Chapter and National Board and great work over the years in fund-raising for AWIS.
