The annual AWIS open house was held at Biogen Idec in October. The event provided an ideal opportunity for current and prospective members for combining networking and understanding various AWIS committees. After an overview of AWIS San Diego chapter by the president Jenny Chaplin, the award winners were announced.

• Achievement in Outreach or Community Service: Julia Claggett

• Oustanding VOlunteer: Lili Chen

• Leadership Service: Valerie Uzzell and Sama Tamrakar

• President Award: Janet White

• Long Service Aawards:Lynne Friedmann (20 years) - Kam Dahlquist (10 years) - Margaret Barr (10 years)
• Career Development Award: Kerri Hebard-Massey
