About the Book Club

The AWIS Book Club serves as a purely social gathering for people to meet and talk. It's the most relaxed committee and provides a way for members to get to know each other. Our meetings are every other month. At each meeting we review the book chosen from the previous meeting, choose the next book to read, get a volunteer to write an article about the next book for the AWIS newsletter, and decide on the date for the next meeting. Each volunteer, upon completion of writing an article, will be reimbursed the cost of the book. People are welcomed even if they haven't finished or read the book, we discuss general topics the books cover and people can help decide on what to read next. (Suggestion: Members can borrow books from each other given that we have two months to finish reading)
