Join the AWIS San Diego Chapter for a fun and educational wine tasting
event at The Wine Lover in
Hillcrest. Four wines will be tasted and discussed by a wine educator.
Light appetizers will be served.

Join us in a topical discussion on recent events in Federal science
policy such as the Stem Cell debate, and how we as individual scientists
can positively influence lawmakers. The Joint Steering Committee for Public
Policy (JSC) is a coalition of three basic biomedical research societies
representing more than 20, 000
researchers in the fields of genetics, cell biology, biochemistry and
molecular biology. The JSC was formed
in 1990 to advocate for federal funding for basic biomedical research.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk American

Please join the AWIS team for this annual and worthwhile event supporting
breast cancer research. This is the largest one day fundraiser for ACS,
and we want to continue to show our support. Last year we raised over
$1,500 with a very small group of walkers. Invite your friends, family,
colleagues, spouses and male friends as well. Our goal is for 50 walkers
this year, and may include members and non members. Marcelle Vogel, event
