The Membership/Publicity Committee has a long list of goals to accomplish. The committee was formally organized in February 2002 and first convened as a group in April 2002. The Committee members are just beginning to address each of the goals. There are a lot of tasks to accomplish! Perhaps there's an expertise you have that can achieve the Committee's goals more efficiently? Perhaps you've recently joined the San Diego Chapter of AWIS and are looking to meet new people, get more involved? Here's a great way to meet extraordinary women and participate in a great organization. Why not sit in on the next meeting and see how you like it? If you have any questions, feel free to contact any one of the Committee members. They will be glad to assist you!
Here is a list of some of the Committee's goals...
- To recruit new members at various professional levels
- To retain current members
- To recruit current members as active participants on committees
- To establish "AWIS-SD Woman of the Year" award
- To organize/establish on-going programs that function to achieve networking and/or mentoring goals.
- To organize the Bi-annual Open House (July & January)
- To network with other local women's groups
- To maintain a database of members' information
- To publicize AWIS and its goals and activities
- To recruit corporate sponsors
- To establish a job database
