The AWIS San Diego Scholarship Program

The San Diego Chapter of AWIS is pleased to announce that it will award $9000 in scholarships in 2005, including a $2000 scholarship sponsored by Pfizer.

The criteria for eligibility for all scholarships, including the Pfizer-AWIS scholarship, are outlined in the application itself. Briefly, an applicant must be a US citizen or permanent resident, have a GPA of at least 3.0, be a full-time student attending an accredited school in San Diego County at the community college, undergraduate, or graduate level.  Scholarship recipients will be recognized at the 2005 Women In Bioscience Conference on May 21st, 2005.

In 2004, the San Diego Chapter of the Association for Women in Science awarded eight scholarships (three of $2000 and five of $1000) to women in San Diego County who are in pursuit of a career in science. In addition, recipients received a one-year membership in AWIS. The scholarships were awarded at the 2004 Scholarship Gala at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center on May 22, 2004.
